Special materials

We use special alloys for extremely high resistance to aggressive media and corrosion which falls above the normal types of steel. The SERTO Group has extensive know-how in the preparation of other alloys such as Hastelloy® and Monel®, but also Incoloy®, Inconel®, SMO®, Duplex and Superduplex.
Due to the high material costs and demanding processing (for example longer production times, higher wear of coolants and tools), long-standing experience with special alloys is an important pre-requisite for high efficiency. Ask your EXMAR advisor for solutions to your challenges!

Hastelloy®

Hastelloy® is the brand name of a steel alloy from the US company Haynes International Inc. The main agent is today one with the best qualities of the nickel-chrome-molybdenum-group with regard to corrosion, resistance to pitting corrosion or split corrosion.

Monel®

Monel®, a brand from the US company Special Metals Corporation, is a nickel-copper alloy with high stability and outstanding corrosion resistance, specifically at high flow velocities.

SMO®

SMO® is a nickel-copper alloy with high strength. Due to the high molybdenum content and the addition of nitrogen, the material has good mechanical properties and very good resistance to pitting, crevice and surface corrosion. The alloy is used in valves, pumps, shafts, fittings, fastening elements and heat exchangers.
